William Kumuyi believes a better Nigeria is achievable

According to William Kumuyi, the General Superintendent of Deeper Christian Life Ministries, a better country is possible without resorting to destruction, grievance, or retaliation. He suggests finding a middle ground through round table discussions involving the Federal Government and the youth to address feelings and pave the way for progress.

Kumuyi expressed these views on Wednesday while engaging with journalists upon his arrival at the Port Harcourt International Airport, Omagwa, Rivers State. He is in preparation for the ‘Change Makers Initiative International’ conference scheduled to take place at the Yakubu Gowon Stadium in the Rivers State capital from August 15 to 20, 2024.

Reflecting on the recent protests against hardship and poor governance by some youths in the country, Kumuyi emphasized that change can be achieved through various approaches and collaboration among different groups.

“If we unite our efforts and energies without aiming to defeat or crush anyone, we can bring about the desired change. By fostering an environment of respect and mutual understanding, we can brainstorm and strategize for a better future,” Kumuyi remarked.

When questioned about the purpose of the upcoming conference, Kumuyi highlighted its non-denominational nature and stressed the importance of individuals, families, and institutions striving to improve and contribute positively to society.

He believes that change starts at the grassroots level and urged everyone to begin making a difference now. “As we bring about positive changes in our personal lives and extend them to our workplaces and communities, we will witness a transformation in the nation,” Kumuyi added.
