Professor Marwan AI-Akaidi, the Acting Vice Chancellor of Wigwe University, emphasized that this initiative underscores the institution’s dedication to providing quality education to all students, irrespective of their financial backgrounds, in line with the late founder’s vision. Prospective applicants for the scholarship must have selected Wigwe University Isiokpo as their first choice and obtained a minimum score of 170 in the Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME). It is also essential to upload qualifying results to the Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) portal. Candidates awaiting their O’level results are advised to promptly upload them to JAMB once available. Those who did not initially select Wigwe University but meet the cutoff mark may still apply by making it their first choice before the Change of Institution process concludes. Notably, Direct Entry candidates are ineligible for this scholarship.
Interested students are encouraged to apply through the Wigwe University portal by visiting and initiating the admission process. Upon completing the admission application, applicants can proceed to the scholarship page and click on “Apply Now.” Successful candidates will receive notifications in the first week of September 2024.
