Complying with measures enforced by authorities to prevent the spread of coronavirus, the wedding ceremony of Naseeba Badaru and Fatima Badaru Abubakar, nieces of Governor Muhammed Badaru of Jigawa State, was attended by only seven people.

The wedding ceremonies of Umar Murtala Adamu and Naseeba Badaru Abubakar, as well as Najib Usman Shehu and Fatima Badaru Abubakar, took place at the Governors residence in Kano state.

The governor’s media aide, Auwal Sankara, revealed that only 7 people attended the event as the state had earlier restricted large gatherings to curb the spread of the disease.

Sankara stated:

“The Jigawa State Governor Alhaji Muhammad Badaru Abubakar has today given out his nieces for marriage while observing social distance and the maximum limit of nine participants in a wedding ceremony. The wedding took place in the Governor’s residence in Kano state, with Umar Murtala Adamu and Naseeba Badaru Abubakar, as well as Najib Usman Shehu and Fatima Badaru Abubakar, tying the knot without a large crowd. Remember, the only vaccine for this pandemic is practicing personal hygiene with regular hand washing and social distancing.”
