We are not getting the needed support and cooperation from the Presidential Task Force in the fight against Coronavirus – Governor Ganduje laments

Governor Ganduje has expressed dissatisfaction with the level of support and cooperation provided by the Presidential Task Force in the battle against COVID-19. In a recent interview with the BBC Hausa Service, he accused the task force of not adequately assisting Kano state in tackling the coronavirus.

Ganduje described the situation in Kano as dire, emphasizing that the state relied heavily on a testing center that has since been closed. He criticized the lack of sample collection equipment and the delays in obtaining test results. Ganduje also lamented the absence of additional testing centers in Kano, despite previous appeals for their establishment.

When questioned about federal government support, Ganduje voiced his disappointment, stating that Kano is not receiving the necessary attention and cooperation from the Presidential Task Force on COVID-19. He asserted that if the testing equipment were under their control, the state would strive to ensure its effective functioning.

Amid Governor Ganduje’s concerns, the fight against COVID-19 in Kano appears to face significant challenges, raising questions about the adequacy of support and resources being provided by the federal authorities.
