The Papal delegate and Archbishop of Onitsha, Most Rev Valerian Okeke, will conduct the installation of Bishop Peter Ebere Okpaleke of the newly-created Catholic Diocese of Ekwulobia on Wednesday, 29th April, 2020, at 10am.

On March 5, 2020, Pope Francis announced the creation of the new Diocese from the Catholic Diocese of Awka. Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, the event will not be open to the general public.

To ensure that the public can virtually attend the event, the Chineto Ozigbo Foundation is sponsoring the LIVE Streaming on the Diocese’s Social Media platforms. This is in addition to the foundation’s sponsorship of the development of the Ekwulobia Diocese website.

Mr. Valentine Ozigbo, the Founder of Chineto Ozigbo Foundation and a respected banker and business leader, stated, “The Church is a strong pillar of our society. A stronger Diocese means a stronger community, stronger families, stronger youth. I count it a privilege to be able to support the Church in this way in her work to secure our future in our communities and with God.”

Mr. Ozigbo is also the immediate past President and Chief Executive Officer of Transcorp Plc.
