Warning: NELFUND Distances Itself from Fraudulent Visa Sponsorship Website

Caution has been issued by the Nigerian Education Loan Fund (NELFUND) regarding a deceptive website falsely claiming to provide foreign visa sponsorship services under the guise of the organization’s name and logo.

In a statement to the media in Abuja on Tuesday, Mr. Nasir Ayitogo, Head of Public Relations, revealed the scheme being perpetrated through a website promoted on Facebook that funnels users to labari.com.ng.

Emphasizing that NELFUND has no association with the website or any similar endeavors, Ayitogo clarified the organization’s exclusive focus on granting educational loans to eligible Nigerian students for academic pursuits within the country.

It was stressed that NELFUND categorically does not engage in visa sponsorships or related services, labeling any such assertions as false and deceptive.

He cautioned the public against interacting with the deceptive website exploiting NELFUND’s name and logo without authorization to mislead individuals, urging vigilance and refraining from divulging personal details.

Ayitogo affirmed NELFUND’s swift action in responding to the situation, with official reports made to relevant authorities for thorough investigations.

In reliance on information disseminated via NELFUND’s official platforms such as the website www.nelf.gov.ng and verified social media accounts, the public was urged to exercise discretion and authenticate any doubtful information directly from the organization.

All official communications from NELFUND will exclusively come through these channels, and individuals are encouraged to validate any suspicious data directly with the organization.
