Warning from Wike to Kidnappers and Informants

Addressing stakeholders of the Area Councils at the Kuje Area Council town hall, Nyesom Wike, the Minister of the Federal Capital Territory, issued a stern warning to kidnappers and their informants, urging them to repent from their crimes or face the consequences at the hands of security agents in the territory.

Wike emphasized the importance of residents providing relevant information to assist security agencies in apprehending kidnappers and criminals in the FCT, pledging to combat insecurity head-on by directing the council chairman to establish and empower vigilante groups. He also delivered a direct message to criminal informants, stating that their time is up and urging them to repent or face the consequences.

Expressing shock at the state of roads in the Area Council, Wike promised to revisit the council’s file and ensure the construction of better roads for the community, assuring the residents that changes would be implemented. In response, the Gomo of Kuje, Alhaji Haruna Jibrin, appealed to the minister for the establishment of either an Army or Mobile Police barracks in the Kuje village where kidnappers were active, and pledged the support of the traditional rulers and the people of Kuje Area Council in the fight against insecurity.
