Paul Okoye, widely known as Paul O and a prominent figure in the music industry, has expressed his concerns about the upcoming challenges that Afrobeat singers may encounter in 2024.
Through a post on his Instagram stories, Paul O highlighted that, with the exception of Burna Boy and Davido, most artists could face difficulties.
The show organizer also disclosed that some performers are struggling to attract audiences to their events, possibly due to steep ticket prices.
His statement read: “2024 will pose significant challenges for Afrobeat artists!!! Apart from the notable performances by Burnaboy and Davido this year, the rest faced setbacks.
“Others are encountering obstacles, be it through inflated pricing or poor ticket sales.
“Let’s avoid the fate that befell Reggae musicians. Consider lowering your rates. Reflect on the number of shows you managed this year.” [sic].
