In a video message shared on Tiktok, Joseph Aloba, the father of late singer Ilerioluwa Aloba, also known as Mohbad, has cautioned against anyone taking his son’s body for burial without his explicit approval.
Following calls from singer Bella Shmurda and actress Tonto Dikeh urging the Police to release Mohbad’s body for a “befitting burial” due to delays in the autopsy result, Mohbad’s father emphasized his authority over his son’s final rites.
He stressed, “When this boy was alive, he was alive. When he passed away, he still carried my name. Nobody should go there and claim his body, please.”
He further asserted, “If any arrangements are to be made, I must be the one to give approval. Nobody should take Mohbad’s body without my consent.”
Mohbad passed away under controversial circumstances on September 12, 2023, and was laid to rest the following day before being exhumed for autopsy a week later. His body was subsequently deposited in the morgue by the police after the autopsy.
