Wanted Cult Leader Arrested by Police in Ogun State

In Oja Oda, Yewa-North Local Government Area of Ogun State, operatives from the Ogun State Police Command successfully apprehended Olamilekan Akojede, a 35-year-old suspected cultist who had been on their wanted list.

The arrest of Akojede took place at around 2:30 pm last Friday, as confirmed by the command’s spokesperson, Omolola Odutola, in a statement shared on her X handle.

Akojede, the alleged leader of the Alora cult group, is known for causing fear and distress in the community, and has been under surveillance by the police for a considerable period.

Following his arrest, Akojede is set to be transferred to the state Criminal Investigation Department for a thorough investigation.

The DPO Oja Odan successfully took into custody Olamilekan Akojede, a prominent member of the Alora confraternity, who has been instilling fear in Oja Odan. The transfer to the SCID for further investigation is imminent.

Expressing the commitment of the command to eliminate cultism from the state, Odutola urged other cult members to reconsider their actions and contribute positively to society.

In conclusion, she called upon individuals involved in cult activities to follow the example set by the apprehended suspect and embrace programs aimed at reforming their behavior for the betterment of their families and the community.

It is worth noting that recent weeks have seen a resurgence of cult clashes in Ogun State, resulting in the loss of more than three lives.
