Violent Attempt to Abduct Zamfara Hajj Commission Chair Foiled as Son and Aide Killed by Bandits

In a tragic incident, terrorists targeted the home of Alhaji Musa Malaha, Chairman of the Zamfara State Hajj Commission (ZSHC) in Gusau, resulting in the death of his son Abdulmunaf and his gateman.

Reports indicate that the attackers also kidnapped another son, Mu’awiyya Lawali.

The bandits’ plot to abduct the ZSHC chairman directly was unsuccessful.

Moreover, they seized several other individuals from the vicinity, yet no ransom demands have been made so far.

A resident named Ishiaku Umaru recounted how the terrorists invaded the chairman’s residence early on Thursday, unleashing gunfire indiscriminately.

“The gunshots startled everyone, prompting chaos and confusion. The exact casualty figures and number of abductees remain unclear,” said the resident.

He noted that many of those taken captive were women and children.

Efforts to reach out to ASP Yazid Abubakar, the spokesman for the Zamfara State Police Command, were unsuccessful at the time of reporting.
