Victory for Mali as they defeat Nigeria 2-0 in a friendly match

A spirited performance by the Eagles of Mali saw them claim a 2-0 victory over the Super Eagles of Nigeria during Tuesday night’s encounter.

It was a clash of the Eagles, with Nigeria enduring the loss as Mali scored a goal in each half of the game.

E. Toure opened the scoring for Mali in the 18th minute, and despite the efforts of the runners-up in the recent African Cup of Nations in Ivory Coast, they couldn’t find an equalizer in the first half.

K. Doumbia sealed the victory for Mali with a goal in the 84th minute, securing them the win in the friendly match.

This defeat marked the first loss for interim coach George Finidi since taking charge after Jose Peseiro’s contract expired.

Finidi began his tenure with a victory in a friendly against the Black Stars of Ghana last Friday.

Reacting to his team’s 2-1 defeat to Nigeria, Ghana national team head coach Otto Addo expressed that the Black Stars were unfortunate against the Super Eagles.
