Vanity Fair Writer Faces Backlash After Controversial Comments About Blue Ivy’s Appearance

Controversy erupted when a Vanity Fair writer made derogatory remarks about the appearance of Blue Ivy Carter, the 7-year-old daughter of Jay-Z and Beyonce.

K. Austin Collins, a film critic for Vanity Fair, faced strong criticism after making offensive comments about Blue Ivy’s looks in response to photos of her with Beyonce and Meg Thee Stallion.

In a now-deleted tweet, Collins wrote, “I have a feeling the jay z face genes are about to really hit Blue Ivy and I feel so sorry for her.”

Journalist Violet Lucca from Harper’s Magazine joined in by suggesting that Blue Ivy might undergo plastic surgery like Kylie Jenner in the future, fueling further outrage.

Following the backlash, Collins deleted his tweet and issued an apology, acknowledging the poor taste of his remarks and expressing regret, particularly in the context of the negative impact on young black girls.

However, his apology failed to quell the outrage as Twitter users continued to condemn his actions.
