Using Culture to Enhance National Cohesion: T Y Danjuma’s Advice to Nigerians

Lt.-Gen. Theophilus Danjuma (rtd), the former Minister of Defence, has emphasized the importance of utilizing culture and tradition as effective tools for fostering unity, national cohesion, and integration among Nigerians.

Speaking at the 2024 Zuru Emirate Uhola Cultural Festival and Agricultural Show in Zuru Emirate of Kebbi, Danjuma highlighted the significance of cultural heritage in bringing people together.

Represented by Dr Bitrus Bogu, the President of the Middle Belt Forum and Chairman of the 2024 Uhola Festival, Danjuma commended the display of indigenous technology and agricultural produce at the festival, showcasing the country’s cultural diversity and values to the global audience.

He proposed the establishment of an Uhola Festival Development Fund to secure funding support, in collaboration with the Nigerian Tourism Development Authority (NTDA), to further promote the event and enhance the tourism sector.
