The Secretary to the Government of the Federation, George Akume, is currently in a closed-door meeting with all ministers in President Bola Tinubu’s cabinet to address the planned nationwide protest against economic challenges.
Notable attendees at the meeting include Nyesom Wike (FCT), Yusuf Tuggar (Foreign Affairs), Zephaniah Jisalo (Special Duties), Tahir Mamman (Education), and Abubakar Bagudu (Budget and Planning).
Also present are Wale Edun (Finance), Mohammed Idris (Information), Bello Matawalle (Defence), David Umahi (Works), and the National Security Adviser, Nuhu Ribadu.
Earlier this week, the President urged Nigerians to refrain from participating in the #EndBadGovernance protest scheduled to kick off on August 1.
The planned protest against economic hardships, organized anonymously, has gained momentum on social media and is set to take place nationwide, covering all 36 states and the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Abuja.
