Update: We did not arrest acting EFCC boss Ibrahim Magu- DSS

The Department of State Services (DSS) has clarified that it did not arrest the acting Chairman of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC), Ibrahim Magu, despite earlier reports suggesting otherwise. Magu was allegedly taken into custody earlier today by DSS operatives and transported to the Presidential Villa to face a panel investigating allegations of corruption against him. However, the DSS Public Relations Officer, Peter Afunanya, refuted the reports of Magu’s arrest in a statement, stating that the service had been inundated with inquiries about the alleged arrest. Similarly, Tony Amokeodo, spokesperson for the acting EFCC boss, also denied the arrest reports, emphasizing that Magu had been invited to appear before the government’s investigative panel concerning the corruption allegations.
