Unveiling of a Baby Factory Where Men Allegedly Impregnated Young Women in Ogun

In Ogun State, the Police have unveiled a baby factory at Imedu Olori area of Mowe in Obafemi Owode Local Government Area.

A statement released by the state police command spokesperson, Abimbola Oyeyemi, reveals that the baby factory was discovered based on information provided by an inmate who had escaped from the illegal home. The victim reported at the Mowe Police Station, stating that she was lured into the home and held captive for a period of time.

The victim, who identified the owner of the home as Florence Ogbonna, explained that Ogbonna used to contract able-bodied men to impregnate the inmates. She added that their babies, after delivery, were taken away by the woman and never seen again.

Responding to the complaint, the DPO of Mowe Division, SP Marvis Jayeola, took action and deployed his men to the scene. Twelve ladies between the ages of 20 to 25 years were rescued, with six of them heavily pregnant.

Those arrested in connection to the crime were Florence Ogbonna (f), Chibuke Akabueze (m), and Chibuzor Okafor (m).

The State Commissioner of Police, CP Kenneth Ebrimson, directed that the suspects be transferred to the anti-human trafficking and child labor unit of the State Criminal Investigation and Intelligence Department for discreet investigation.
