It has been a decade since His Excellency President Umar Musa Yar’Adua was taken away by the cold hands of death. Each year on this day, his legacy fills our hearts as a testament to his selflessness, modesty, and exceptional talent.

He was a President who was unmatched in his dedication to his country. He stood by the people, tirelessly working day and night to improve their lives.

President Yar’Adua constructed strong foundations of hope, love, and understanding, making him a force for national unity and positive change across our nation.

In many respects, he stood out. He possessed an inclusive nature and an exceptional goodwill that wove a web around the divisions within our nation, strengthening the bond. Thus, he left to his successors the responsibility of fortifying this bond.
President Yar’Adua undoubtedly left enduring legacies in his unwavering devotion to democratic ideals, respect for people’s rights and freedom, and commitment to justice, equity, and the rule of law.

I will always remember President Yar’Adua, who started as my colleague and boss but became my brother and friend.
