Uncovering the latest rift between P-Square’s Paul and Peter

A recent revelation by Paul Okoye of P-Square regarding a petition submitted against him to the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission by his twin brother, Peter, has once again brought their strained relationship to light. Peter clarified that the petition was actually aimed at their elder brother and former manager, Jude, unveiling yet another crack in the family bond. This further complicates the already tumultuous history of breakups and reunions within the musical duo.

Insight into the Issue with Jude Okoye

In a public letter directed to his twin brother and shared on Instagram, Peter disclosed how Jude allegedly established a separate company named Northside Music without their knowledge and diverted funds there.

According to Peter, funds from their main company were siphoned to this secret enterprise owned by Jude and his wife, Ifeoma. Jude defended himself by claiming that the funds transferred were repayment for a loan owed to Paul from the sale of his U.S. home.

Notably, this is not the first instance of Peter calling out Jude. Back in February 2016, he took to Twitter to disassociate from Jude as their manager and issued warnings about conducting business transactions with Northside Entertainment or Jude Okoye on behalf of P-Square.

Family Dynamics and Marital Issues

Reports suggest that the conflict between the brothers escalated due to disagreements involving their wives and extended family members.

Peter’s marriage to Lola in 2013 faced disapproval from some family members, citing concerns about the age gap and her ethnicity. Despite this, Peter has publicly expressed his love and dedication to his wife, emphasizing that their bond transcends societal norms.

In a similar vein, Paul, following the birth of his twins with his estranged wife Anita, hinted at outside interference causing disruption within the family. This incident hinted at underlying tensions within the Okoye family structure.

Conciliation Efforts and the Role of Peter Obi

P-Square’s turbulent history includes numerous reconciliations and subsequent fallouts, leading to emotional exhaustion among fans. Recent visits from the Labour Party’s presidential candidate, Peter Obi, to each brother’s residence have raised hopes for a potential resolution to their ongoing rift.

Despite past attempts by various prominent figures to mediate between the siblings, lasting peace has remained elusive.

P-Square: Before and After

Both brothers acknowledge the financial success they achieved as P-Square compared to their individual careers.

However, even after reuniting, their collective musical projects have not replicated the monumental success of their earlier works. Recent singles like ‘Jaiye (Ihe Geme)’ and ‘Find Somebody’ have garnered notably fewer views on platforms like YouTube compared to their past hits.

As solo artists, their individual music videos have experienced varying levels of viewership, showcasing the challenges of transitioning from a renowned duo to separate musical entities.
