UK Govt to give £60k life assurance payout to families of medics and care workers killed in Coronavirus line of duty 

The UK government has announced a £60,000 life assurance payout for families of medics and care workers who lost their lives to Coronavirus. Health and Social Care Secretary Matt Hancock revealed the scheme during a Downing Street press conference, stating that 82 NHS workers and 16 social care staff have died from the virus. The government aims to provide support to the families dealing with the grief of losing their loved ones. The UK has reported over 150,000 confirmed coronavirus cases and 20,000 deaths from the virus.
