UEFA Postpones Euro 2020 to 2021 Due to Coronavirus

Amid the coronavirus pandemic, UEFA has officially announced the postponement of Euro 2020 until the summer of 2021, allowing European leagues to complete their seasons.

 

The Norwegian FA took to their social media accounts to confirm the news, revealing that the tournament, originally planned to be held in 12 European cities and scheduled to commence on June 12, is now rescheduled for June 11 to July 11, 2021.

 

 “Uefa has decided that the Euros should be postponed until 2021. It will be played from 11 June to 11 July next year.”

This decision came after UEFA held conference calls with its 55 member associations, the board of the European Club Association, and the board of the European Leagues.

 

The postponement provides an opportunity for the completion of European leagues that have been suspended.
