UEFA Champions League: Real Madrid Absent from Team of the Week


Despite Real Madrid’s triumph over Manchester City in the quarter-final second-leg fixture on Wednesday, no player from the Spanish club made it to UEFA’s Champions League Fantasy football team of the week.

Following the completion of the quarter-final matches on Wednesday night, UEFA unveiled their team of the week for the Champions League.

Kevin de Bruyne from Manchester City was featured in the lineup by the European football governing body for his performance in the game.

De Bruyne netted City’s goal against Madrid, resulting in a 1-1 draw after extra time. Real Madrid went on to secure a spot in the semi-finals with a 4-3 victory in the penalty shootout.

Among the standout players in the team are Bayern Munich’s goalkeeper Manuel Neuer and Paris Saint-Germain’s Kylian Mbappe.
