UCL: Tuchel Feels ‘Betrayed’ After Real Madrid Defeat Bayern UCL: It’s against the rules – Tuchel ‘betrayed’ after Real Madrid beat Bayern

Thomas Tuchel, the manager of Bayern Munich, expressed feeling ‘betrayed’ after a controversial refereeing decision in their Champions League loss to Real Madrid on Wednesday.

The lead was taken by Tuchel’s team in the 68th minute, courtesy of Alphonso Davies, but Joselu scored twice late to complete an impressive comeback.

However, following Joselu’s second goal, a goal by Mattheus De Light was disallowed as the defender was deemed offside.

In a post-game interview with TNT Sports, Tuchel criticized the decision, describing it as going “against the rules” with an apology coming from the linesman.

In his statement, he mentioned, “We were on the verge of progressing, and then our top player made an unusual error which led to the equalizer, and we conceded the second in added time.

“After we scored one back, there was an awful call by the linesman and the referee. It feels like a betrayal in the end.

“The linesman may offer apologies, but that doesn’t rectify the situation. To flag at such a crucial moment… The referee saw that we regained possession and took the shot – it’s an incredibly poor decision. It goes against the regulations. It’s a catastrophe. It’s difficult to accept, but that’s the reality of it.”
