Two Suspected Robbers Apprehended by Police in Bauchi

It has been reported by the Bauchi State Police Command that two individuals suspected of robbery have been detained in the state capital.

According to a press release issued on Tuesday by the Police Public Relations Officer of the command, Ahmed Wakil, a significant breakthrough was made by the Rapid Response Squad under the command of Sani Mohammed in collaboration with a committee in thwarting criminal activities in the early hours of Monday, August 26, 2024. The suspects were intercepted while riding a tricycle in the Unguwan Jahun area of Bauchi metropolis, despite their attempt to escape.

The two apprehended suspects were identified as Aliyu A. Aliyu, also known as Jagaba, aged 24 and Abdulrahman Ibrahim, also known as Abdun Umma, aged 17, both residents of the Jahun area of Bauchi metropolis.

During questioning, the suspects confessed willingly to participating in armed robbery activities and owning up to stealing valuable items from various households.

The recovered items included five laptops, four mobile phones, five power banks, one router, six wristwatches, one jambox, and one clipper.

Further investigations are underway to capture the remaining members of the gang. The Commissioner of Police, Auwal Musa Muhammad, praised the efforts of the Rapid Response Squad and assured the public of his dedication to combat criminal activities within the state.
