The interception of two lorries carrying passengers concealed among livestock from Kano to Kaduna has been reported. The vehicles managed to bypass initial security checks at the Kaduna-Kano border before being discovered by security officials.
According to Samuel Aruwan, the Kaduna State Commissioner for Internal Security and Home Affairs, the lorries had progressed to Gwargwaji in Zaria LGA before being apprehended within the same local government. The passengers were found hidden behind various goods, motorcycles, and animals.
In compliance with the ban on inter-state travel imposed by the Kaduna State Government, the intercepted vehicles were turned back. Security operatives are actively enforcing the travel directives at all entry points to prevent the spread of Coronavirus in Nigeria.
