Two middle-aged Beninese nationals arrested in Ogun for abduction

On Monday, February 20th, two suspected abductors, who are middle-aged Beninese nationals, were apprehended by the operatives of the Ogun State Community, Social Orientation and Safety Corps – So-Safe Corps. They were caught attempting to elope with an underage female abductee through the Republic of Benin Border.

In a press release from the Office of the State Commander of the agency, Commander (Dr) Soji Ganzallo, through the Director of Information and Public Relations of the agency, Assistant Commander Moruf Yusuf, it was reported that the Special Patrol team of the agency, led by the Idiroko Divisional Officer CSC Abdulkareem Abdulrazaq, suspected the movement of the suspects, Moye Kazeem (25 years old) and Moye Kokuyi (20 years old), during a routine patrol in the border area. Upon questioning, the suspects failed to provide convincing answers. The female abductee, Okechukwu Felicia (16 years old), also could not establish the true position of the suspects.

‘’The female abductee Okechukwu Felicia 16 years old, a resident of Ajuwon Akute in Ifo Local Government Area who was interrogated as well could not establish what was really going on and the true position of the suspects.”the statement read

Further investigation revealed that the suspects had been previously declared wanted for the same offense at the Akute Ajuwon Divisional Police Headquarter. They were apprehended at Iyana-Ago while trying to cross into the Republic of Benin.

Subsequently, the suspects and the victim, along with a Bajaj motorcycle, were handed over to the Nigeria Police Ajuwon Divisional Headquarters for further investigation and likely prosecution, with the assistance of Inspectors Sunday Abah and Sami Loris.
