Two individuals, Bada Bayo and Segun Ogundele, both aged 45, were apprehended by officers of Ajah division of the Lagos State Police Command along Budo Specialist Hospital road in Ajah, Lagos state.
The arrest occurred during a routine patrol when the suspects’ unregistered Mercedes saloon car was flagged down for a search.
During the search, an English Beretta pistol with seven rounds of live ammunition was discovered in their possession.
SP Benjamin Hundeyin, spokesperson of the Lagos state police command, stated that preliminary investigations suggest that the suspects are cultists.
Further investigation is underway to uncover more details about the suspects, their activities, and the source of the firearm. The suspects will be arraigned upon the conclusion of the investigation.
