Banky W’s plea for security agencies to send officers to enforce social distancing while sharing food in a Lagos community sparked clashes among Twitter users.
The singer mentioned the police in Maroko being supportive but stretched thin, with only 4 officers available for the job.
He tweeted, “@jidesanwoolu @followlasg We just need a little assistance with officers to help us control the crowd and get them to understand social distancing while picking up the food. Please help with Police/Army/Lastma. 10-20 solid officers would be amazing. Pls RT folks. FYI the Police in Maroko has been incredibly supportive but they are stretched thin at the moment, so the 4 officers they are able to give us are not enough.”
Additionally, Banky W acknowledged that the Nigerian army responded to his call via DM.
However, his tweet received mixed reactions with some expressing disapproval of calling in security operatives, while others defended him.
