Troops have successfully captured terrorists’ leaders and detained providers of supplies

Reported by the Nigerian Army, their forces have apprehended two alleged Boko Haram commanders in the North Eastern region of Nigeria.

Additionally, the troops managed to detain two suppliers of supplies and collaborators, with 50 Boko Haram militants and their families surrendering.

In a recent update shared on the official X microblogging platform, the army mentioned that the soldiers also rescued individuals who were kidnapped from multiple locations and recovered stolen goods taken by troublemakers pretending to be protesters in the area.

As per the disclosed information, on August 4th, acting on credible intelligence, the troops successfully nabbed the two commanders of terrorists who had infiltrated the Damasak Internally Displaced Persons (IDPs) camp located in Mobbar Local Government Area of Borno.

These suspects identified as Bana Yamode and Babagana Usman claimed to be visiting their families in the camp but were previously involved in leading attacks on the troops stationed in that region.

Furthermore, the troops also took into custody two alleged Boko Haram suppliers of logistics, namely, Malam Mustapha Ismaila (aged 49) and Abdulmudalabi Haruna (aged 30), while rescuing two minors during the operation.

Meanwhile, a total of 50 Boko Haram suspects along with their families voluntarily surrendered to the troops stationed in various areas including Bama, Gwoza, and Dikwa Local Government Areas.

This mass surrender followed intensified activities against the terrorist group,” the release stated.

The communique also disclosed the arrest of three Boko Haram collaborators on August 4th at Gubio Market in Gubio Local Government Area.
