Successful Operation by Troops Results in Elimination of 2 Terrorists in Zamfara

Reports from the Nigerian Army confirm that during counter-terrorism operations in Zamfara and Kastina states, two terrorists were neutralized by the troops after attempting to abduct civilians. The army also managed to successfully rescue the victims from the situation.

Following an attack on farmers by terrorists along Gidan Shaho Road in Zurmi Local Government Area of Zamfara, the troops swiftly responded to a distress call. The intervention of the troops led to the terrorists abandoning their victims and fleeing the scene.

Victims with gunshot wounds were promptly evacuated to a nearby hospital for urgent medical attention as stated in the official army post.

In a separate incident along Fangaltama-Mayanchi Road in Talata Mafara Local Government Area of Zamfara, troops responded to a kidnapping incident. The troops engaged fleeing extremists, resulting in the successful neutralization of two terrorists while the others managed to escape.

During the operation, five commuters were rescued, and the troops recovered two AK-47 rifles, eight rounds of 7.62 mm (Special) ammunition, and two mobile phones from the terrorists.

Moreover, a joint clearance operation with the Katsina State Civilian Joint Task Force was conducted targeting suspected terrorists’ hideouts at Shawu, Dugun Fakwu, and Tafki Villages in Faskari Local Government Area of Katsina State.

The operation led to the destruction of the enclaves and the recovery of a fabricated gun and other dangerous weapons.

The Nigerian Army emphasized the unrelenting commitment of the troops to combat terrorism and ensure the safety and security of affected communities.
