Currently in police custody is Oladimeji Ahmed, 48, the chairman of the Ikeja Tricycle Riders Association, after a violent confrontation with a police officer.
Benjamin Hundeyin, the spokesperson for the Lagos State Police Command, revealed this information in a post on X.com on Saturday.
Sharing the video of the altercation, Hundeyin tweeted, “Arrested is Oladimeji Ahmed, 48 years old, Chairman of Ikeja Tricycle Riders Association, for a severe assault on a police officer.
“Ahmed attacked an Inspector of Police who was trying to confiscate a motorcycle and arrest the rider for blatantly obstructing traffic in Ikeja at around 6:00 pm on Friday, August 9, 2024.”
Hundeyin also mentioned that an ongoing investigation is being conducted into the incident.
Back in January, PUNCH Online reported that the command had arrested and charged a 39-year-old man, Akinyemi Akintayo, for assaulting police officers.
