Transfer update: Arsenal set to disrupt Chelsea’s pursuit of Osimhen

Corriere Dello Sport reports that Arsenal is poised to disrupt Chelsea’s efforts to secure the signing of Victor Osimhen from Napoli.

Last summer, the Gunners were part of the clubs interested in the Nigerian striker.

This year, however, Mikel Arteta shifted focus from Osimhen and instead pursued Benjamin Sesko, who ultimately opted to remain with RB Leipzig.

As a result, Arteta is now exploring other options in the transfer market.

Chelsea, on the other hand, is putting forward a proposal for a loan plus player swap deal involving Romelu Lukaku heading to Napoli and Osimhen moving to Stamford Bridge.

Reports suggest Arsenal has re-entered the race for Osimhen, although they are yet to make a formal offer.

Alternatively, Arteta may also consider Sporting Lisbon’s Viktor Gyokeres as an option. The Swedish striker impressed with 29 goals and 10 assists in 33 league appearances for Verde e Brancos.
