Stan Collymore’s Warning to Osimhen Regarding a Possible Move to Chelsea

In a cautionary statement, former Liverpool forward Stan Collymore has advised Victor Osimhen to consider the high expectations he would face from Chelsea fans if he decides to join Stamford Bridge.

Collymore highlighted the intense pressure Osimhen would be under to perform if he makes the move.

Noteworthy clubs like Arsenal, Manchester United, and Paris Saint-Germain have shown interest in the ex-Lille striker.

However, the major hurdle in Osimhen’s transfer saga remains his hefty release clause of 130 million euros.

Given the constraints of Financial Fair Play Regulations, Chelsea is contemplating a loan deal with a potential buy option to secure the player.

Collymore also drew attention to instances where prominent signings at Chelsea failed to meet their expected standards.

He elaborated on the reasons why Osimhen might struggle at Chelsea.

“Previously, there was excessive hype surrounding the record signings at Chelsea, irrespective of their actual performance on the pitch,” Collymore expressed to Caughtoffside.

“There was always an unfair expectation that the high-profile signing would be the game-changer and not just an entertainer but also the face of the club and the Premier League as a whole.

“This scenario could potentially unfold for Victor Osimhen if his rumored transfer to Chelsea materializes, as the astronomical figures would unreasonably pressurize and raise expectations on him,” he concluded.
