Transfer: Mbappe changes his mind, to sign new PSG contract with exit clause

According to Foot Mercato, Kylian Mbappe, the forward for Paris Saint-Germain, is in discussions with the club to finalize a new contract.

This development comes after the Ligue 1 champions reintegrated the 24-year-old back into the first-team squad.

Mbappe was previously sent to the reserves after expressing his unwillingness to extend his contract with PSG.

During a meeting on Sunday, club president Nasser Al Khelaifi reportedly informed the players that “Kylian is committed to the club” and is now available to manager Luis Enrique.

Mbappe has now initiated negotiations regarding a contract extension.

However, this would only entail a one-year contract renewal, effectively keeping Mbappe at Les Parisiens until 2025.

Both parties may also come to a private agreement concerning an exit clause. This would allow the prolific forward to depart from the French capital next summer, most likely to join Real Madrid, while also requiring PSG to receive a substantial transfer fee.
