Training of Ad Hoc Staff by Bauchi Electoral Commission in Preparation for Upcoming Election


With the Bauchi Local Government Council election scheduled for August 17, the State Independent Electoral Commission, BASIEC, has commenced training for ad hoc staff.

The training, focusing on returning officers, electoral officers, and administrative officers, aims to equip them for the forthcoming elections in the state’s 20 local government areas.

During the training session on Friday, BASIEC executive chairman, Alhaji Ahmed Makama, emphasized the essential nature of providing the officers with the necessary skills and knowledge for effective duty performance.

He reaffirmed the commission’s dedication to collaborating with all relevant stakeholders to ensure a successful and credible election process.

In his address to the officers, Makama encouraged them to utilize the training effectively, highlighting their crucial role in facilitating a seamless electoral process.

Stressing the importance of the training, he stated, “We are fully equipped for the local government council election on August 17. This training is vital to ensure your understanding of your specific responsibilities.”

He also mentioned the readiness of the commission to commence the distribution of both sensitive and non-sensitive election materials, urging the officers to take their roles seriously to promote a successful election outcome.

Ahmed Makama expressed gratitude to political parties and the public for their continuous support and cooperation, assuring a transparent and fair election conduct.

Meanwhile, Dr. Bala Musa Lukshi, the permanent commissioner of the commission, appreciated the chairman’s support in organizing the training for the key officers, expressing hope that it would enhance their performance in fulfilling their assignments.
