Trail driver involved in hit-and-run apprehended by LASTMA

An incident of a hit-and-run involving a trailer driver in the Anthony Oke area of Lagos State heading towards Oshodi has led to the apprehension of the driver by the Lagos State Traffic Management Authority (LASTMA).

In a statement released on Monday in Lagos, the Director of the Public Affairs and Enlightenment Department of LASTMA, Taofiq Adebayo, confirmed the incident.

The driver, operating a trailer registered under Honeywell Flour Mill Plc with the number plate JJJ 764 XV, was caught after colliding with a pedestrian who was crossing the expressway.

This occurrence took place near the Total Filling Station at Anthony Oke, towards Oshodi.

During the early hours of the day, the incident raised significant concerns among witnesses and commuters.

The pedestrian, who suffered severe injuries, including a broken left leg, received immediate attention from the Lagos State Ambulance Service and was swiftly transported to a nearby hospital for urgent medical care.

LASTMA officials on duty at the time responded promptly, giving chase to the fleeing driver and successfully apprehending him at Oshodi.
