Tragic Suicide: Man’s Facebook Post Declares ‘Rest in peace to me’ (Photos)

A tragic incident unfolded as a Kenyan man tragically committed suicide following a chilling Facebook post declaring ‘Rest in peace to me’.

The 24-year-old man, Dennis Yego Kogo, hailing from Kabiyet in Mosop, Nandi County, took his life by hanging himself just hours after sharing a series of photos and captioning them with the haunting phrase.

Moments later, he posted another troubling message on his Facebook story: “kama kuna mtu ananitai then kam before midday tomorrow morning (If I owe you any money, come and meet me tomorrow morning).”

Tragically, his lifeless body was discovered hanging from a tree.

The Kabiyet Ward Representative, Walter Teno, recounted that the man and his wife had sought his counsel earlier on Monday regarding their marital issues.

“He came to my office with his wife. They were having issues which they wanted me to help them solve. The wife had run away from their home. We talked and they agreed to go home and live together,” said Mr. Teno to the Nation.

Disturbingly, it was revealed that he had attempted to kill his wife before taking his own life.

“He stabbed her several times but she did not die. She is presently admitted to Kapsabet Referral Hospital. I am shocked by this. I thought we had solved the issues,” he said.

Nandi Police Commander, Samson ole Kine, confirmed the tragic incident on Wednesday, stating that the man’s body was found hanging from a tree near his home on Tuesday. He also mentioned that the man did not leave a suicide note.
