The late Umar Audi, who represented Bayo constituency at the Borno state house of assembly, has passed away.
According to The Cable, he was initially turned away at the University of Maiduguri Teaching Hospital on Tuesday evening due to a reported lack of bed space.
However, after intervention from his family, Audi was admitted but unfortunately passed away shortly thereafter. An eyewitness shared,
“He died shortly after they admitted him. His sample has been sent to the Nigeria Center for Disease Control to certify if the death has anything to do with COVID-19.”
His demise occurred just a week after the death of Bukar Wakil Lawan, the lawmaker representing Nganzai constituency in Borno, who succumbed to COVID-19.
