Tragic Loss: Taraba State Mourns Another Commissioner

It has been reported that the Commissioner for Cooperative and Poverty Alleviation in Taraba State, Hon. Naphtali Kefas, has passed away.

Hon. Kefas breathed his last on Thursday, May 7, at the Federal Medical Center in Jalingo after battling a prolonged illness. His demise comes shortly after the loss of the Commissioner for Rural Development, Hon. Makus Senlo, who passed away in a Yola hospital just a month ago.

Bala Dan-Abu, the Special Adviser on Media and Publicity to Governor Darius Ishaku, confirmed the commissioner’s passing in a statement released on Friday, May 8.

The statement reflected, “The death of Kefas has robbed the state of the services of a patriotic and hard-working gentleman. The late Kefas was a very gentle and compassionate man, the reason why he was posted to the Ministry of Poverty Alleviation to help implement government’s pragmatic programme of giving hope and succour to the poor and the needy.”

Prior to his demise, Kefas had sought treatment in Dubai on different occasions.
