Investigations have been initiated by the Ondo State Police Command following the unfortunate demise of a man and his girlfriend within the state.
An individual known as Eric, together with his unidentified girlfriend, were discovered lifeless in a newly rented apartment situated in the Ayeyemi district of Ondo town, Ondo State, on Thursday.
PUNCH Metro reported that the bodies of the couple were found in a close embrace, suggestive of their intimate activity before the fateful incident occurred. Though attempts were made to separate them, they had already passed away.
The exact cause of death for these undisclosed lovers remains a mystery at this point. However, speculation suggests that they might have been electrocuted during their intimate engagement.
An unnamed source, who refrained from disclosing their identity due to lack of authorization, mentioned, “There was a generator running on the premises with a phone connected to a socket on the bed. It is plausible that they came into contact with a live wire, leading to their unfortunate electrocution.”
According to another account, the deceased’s relatives found them motionless when they couldn’t reach them by phone the next day. Upon peerng through a window, they spotted the bodies, prompting them to force entry into the room.
In response, the State Police Public Relations Officer, Mrs. Funmilayo Odunlami, affirmed the occurrence, mentioning that an inquiry had been launched into the matter.
“The man and woman were lovers known to their respective families. While they succumbed within their room, there is no evidence to suggest they were physically intertwined. Investigations are ongoing,” stated the PPRO.
