Reports indicate that a community in Sokoto State was targeted by suspected gunmen in the early hours of Sunday, resulting in the deaths of six individuals and the abduction of several others.
The spokesperson for the Sokoto Police Command, ASP Ahmed Rufai, confirmed the tragic events that took place at Tudun Doki in the Gwadabawa Local Government Area of Sokoto.
Rufai mentioned that details surrounding the incident are still unclear, but assured that the Divisional Police Officer assigned to Gwadabawa is leading a team to the community to assess the situation and restore order.
According to him, “A search team has recovered six bodies so far, and efforts are underway to locate the missing individuals.
Local sources reported that seven suspected gunmen launched the attack on the community around 1:30 am, wielding advanced weapons and indiscriminately firing at anyone in their path while abducting multiple residents.”
