Tragic Incident in Plateau State: Woman Killed by Bandits, Daughter Escapes with Injuries

In a heartbreaking incident in Plateau State, Mrs Shoni Michael was tragically killed by bandits.

Sources reveal that her daughter, who was present during the attack, miraculously escaped despite also being shot by the assailants before they fled into the surrounding wilderness.

Reports indicate that the mother and daughter were preparing a meal in their home in the Mangu community when the armed gunmen launched a violent assault, resulting in the woman’s immediate death and leaving her daughter wounded.

This distressing event, PUNCH Metro learned, took place in Kikyau village, located in Mangu Local Government Area, on a fateful Wednesday evening.

A resident of Kikyau village, Charity Jatau, verified the incident to PUNCH Metro in Jos the following day.

Jatau disclosed, “Last night in our Kikyau community, a elderly woman named Shoni Michael was fatally shot by armed individuals we recognize as Fulani terrorists. Fortunately, her daughter sustained gunshot wounds.

“It’s truly disheartening as the victims were simply at their home preparing dinner for their family around 4:30 pm on Wednesday when the terrorists suddenly emerged and unleashed gunfire on them.”

Expressing condemnation of the attack, the resident urged security forces to intensify efforts in Kikyau and neighboring areas to combat the escalating terrorist activities witnessed in recent times.

Despite attempts to contact the spokesman for the Plateau State Police Command, no response was received as his phone indicated that it was unreachable.
