Tragic Incident in Abia: Policeman Reportedly Shoots and Kills Abia Revenue Official

On Tuesday, July 7, an unfortunate incident occurred in Aba, Abia State, as a member of the police force reportedly shot and killed one Abia revenue taskforce official while injuring another. The incident caused a great deal of tension in the area.

According to eyewitness accounts, the shooting took place when a policeman associated with Crunches, a fast-food restaurant, opened fire on the Abia State Taskforce Board of Internal Revenue.

Tragically, the shooting resulted in the immediate death of a taskforce member, Ifeanyi Kalu, and left another individual seriously wounded, prompting others to seek safety.

Reports suggest that the conflict began when the driver of Crunches restaurant notified the police that their bus had been taken by the taskforce. This led to the arrival of the police, who allegedly resorted to firing “AK-47” weapons, causing chaos and resulting in the injuries to Kalu and another person.
