Reports from Bauchi State indicate that a fire outbreak at the Muda Lawan market resulted in the loss of one life.
The fire, which started when a truckload of mattresses caught fire on Thursday, April 16, caused extensive damage to numerous shops and nearby parked cars.
According to eyewitnesses who spoke to Channels TV, the arrival of firefighters was met with hostility from enraged youths due to their delayed response in extinguishing the fire. The firefighters eventually managed to contain the fire after regrouping with a stronger team.
