The recent fire outbreak in Damaturu, the Yobe state capital, resulted in the tragic loss of a pregnant mother and her three children.

The cause of the fire, which engulfed two flats, is still unknown. It was reported that the husband of the deceased woman, known as Mr. Adamu, managed to save their youngest child while sustaining burns in the process.

According to Muhammad Goje, the Executive Secretary of the State Emergency Management Agency (SEMA), the fire claimed the lives of four individuals and completely destroyed two flats.

In a statement, Goje expressed his condolences and provided details of the incident, stating:

“It was with a heavy heart we received the report and despite the curfew, we went out and reached the six-storey house. A family of six, a pregnant mother and her three children, unfortunately, died during the incident and the father was able to throw one of the children and he was also safe but the father sustained some burns.

“Two households burnt, lost four lives,”
