A former councillor of Getso ward, Ibrahim Nakuzama, was reportedly shot dead over alleged ballot box snatching.
According to a report by Daily Trust, Nakuzama was fatally shot by security operatives in Gwarzo local government area of Kano during the governorship and state assembly candidates elections on Saturday, March 18, 2023.
An associate of the deceased, who requested anonymity, expressed shock and was unable to provide detailed information about the incident.
Earlier in the day, the deceased had provided refreshments for agents of the All Progressives Congress (APC) and New Nigerian Peoples Party (NNPP) at his polling unit.
Individuals close to him dismissed the possibility of his involvement in ballot box snatching.
Nakuzama is survived by two wives and six children.
