After contracting COVID-19, a 40-year-old mother of four who had been vocal about her anti-vaccine and anti-mask beliefs on social media has passed away.
Screen captures of Kristen Lowery’s posts, which were previously public on Facebook but have since been made private, have circulated on Reddit and other platforms.
A GoFundMe page has been created to help cover her funeral expenses, as she passed away unexpectedly on September 15.
Living in Escalon, California, Lowery frequently described herself in her posts as ‘unmasked, unmuzzled, unvaccinated, unafraid’ and a ‘free thinker’, encouraging people to question everything.
In a photo she shared on her Facebook, she proudly wore a t-shirt labeling herself as an ‘ex-vaxxer’ while holding a sign that read ‘give a voice to the vaccine injured’.
Her sister Cassie provided updates about her health condition, expressing her fight against COVID and pneumonia in the hospital. She pleaded for her sister not to give up, emphasizing the love and longing of her children.
Cassie mentioned that the situation was not political and she was not interested in anyone else’s opinions about vaccines.
Relatives confirmed the cause of her death, stating that she had ‘died from Covid’, expressing their heartbreak for her four children and acknowledging that she was needed by many, but there must be special plans for her in heaven.
The GoFundMe page exceeded its goal, raising over £8,000 ($11,000) for her funeral, and a loved one expressed how devastating her death has been for everyone who knew her.
