An unfortunate incident on the Enugu-Aba-Port Harcourt Expressway in Abia State resulted in the death of at least eleven individuals, including two infants near Umuika Junction.
The fatal crash occurred around 12:45 pm when a Sienna car from Abia Line Network collided with a heavily loaded truck.
According to an eyewitness named Ochiegbu Marvelous, the driver reportedly fell asleep at the wheel, leading to a loss of control which caused the collision with the truck before veering into a nearby bush.
This harrowing collision led to the tragic loss of eleven lives, including two young children, and left several other passengers injured.
Authorities of the Abia State Police Command and the Federal Road Safety Corps have not yet provided any statements on the incident at the time of this report filing.
