Tragedy Strikes as 62 Lose Lives in Brazil Plane Crash

Near Sao Paulo, Brazil, a devastating plane crash claimed the lives of 62 individuals on board.

The tragic incident involved 58 passengers and four crew members who lost their lives.

Initially, there was uncertainty surrounding the fate of those on board, but later in the day, it was confirmed that all 62 individuals had perished.

The crash, which involved Flight 2283, took place in Vinhedo, as stated by the airline operating the flight, Voepass Linhas Aéreas.

Authorities in the vicinity of the crash site reported no survivors. Only one residence in the local condominium complex, where the crash occurred, sustained damage, fortunately with no injuries to the residents.

Brazil’s President Luiz Inacio Lula da Silva acknowledged the tragic event while addressing a gathering shortly after the crash.

During his speech, the president shared the devastating news, urging a moment of silence to honor the victims.

Voepass Airlines confirmed that the aircraft, which originated from Cascavel in Parana state and was en route to Sao Paulo’s main international airport, tragically crashed in Vinhedo, situated approximately 80 kilometers northwest of Sao Paulo.

As per flight tracker FlightRadar24, the ill-fated plane was identified as an ATR 72-500 turboprop.
