In the Turkish Cup semi-final victory against Fatih Karagumruk on Wednesday night, Trabzonspor manager Abdullah Avci has dismissed reports of a major injury for Paul Onuachu.
Scoring the opening goal after 54 minutes in the 4-0 win, Onuachu had to exit the field only three minutes later due to an injury sustained in an aerial contest.
The Nigerian international, who had recently returned from injury, faces concerns of another sidelined period, but Avci has refuted such speculations.
Avci was cited by Taka Gazette saying, “We have received information that it is not a serious condition, rather a spasm-like issue. I believe he will be fit by the week’s end.”
Trabzonspor is set to contest against Besiktas in the cup final, eyeing their tenth victory. The last time they secured the cup was during the 2019-2020 season.
